About us

History

Inspired by good times, the aesthetics & attention to quality of the 50s and the 60s and respect for long lasting design ethics, we at Indigofera Prima Jeans are driven to bring you enduring pieces that look good, become even better with wear and simply just work for everyday living.

Indigo color is the beginning of the whole denim industry. The color and the fading of indigo is like no other. INDIGOFERA, which is the Latin name of the plant group that you can extract the color, will always be a beacon of clarity for us. PRIMA is the mission and the overall control function of the brand—the best fabric, cutting, sewing and attention to the details to make the pieces last.

Life

Indigofera is made to be worn—no matter if you’re a carpenter, an office worker, biker on the run, a cowboy on the prairie, just a regular guy or all of those and more. Indigofera garments age gracefully with you and get even better with the wear. Our fits are heritage inspired and tailored to fit the modern way. Functional clothing for all times.

“There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars”
-Jack Kerouac

Quality

We take pride in knowing the garment and aim to make long term decisions based on quality. We have a strong appreciation for the heritage and are influenced by the past. Yet sometimes, want to adjust and make things even better and more fitting for today.

We want to take the best from the past and the best from the present and, if necessary, combine the two to make pieces that last longer and just work.

Process

Working closely with European, American and Japanese mills, we focus first on fabrics before even beginning to map out the cutting and sewing of a garment. Most of our fabrics are woven specifically for us in limited quantities.

Indigofera garments are made in Portugal and in other specifically chosen locations in Europe. Our fabrics are milled in Japan, U.S.A. and Europe.

Everybody who wears Indigofera becomes part of the process, as our garments wear and age individually with its wearer. Every wear pattern is as unique as it’s user.

Established in 2007, Indigofera is operating from it’s hometown Stockholm, Sweden and is run by founder Mats Andersson.
